October Update

It's been awhile since i've updated the blog, not for lack of news, but for technical reasons.
We've had a fruiful 2 months thus far in Bangkok.

We've been actively serving several churches, and enjoying fellowship in others.
Tammy and I are making progress in school.  We've picked up on a lot, including being able to read and write a foreign alphabet.  I'm amazed at how much progress we've made.  Many people tell us that Tammy's pronunciation is very clear.  Many of those people tell us that my pronunciation is not very clear!  But it's getting better.

Tammy's working part time at the professional language school three days a week.  She also volunteers as an assitant for the English classes at the Lat Prao Church which is the parent church of Ao Udom.  There's quite a bit of kids over there that come in from the community.

After a lot of mulling over, we've decided Lat Prao might be the best place for us to serve in Bangkok during upcoming Holiday season.  We've been friends for 2 years, and they could use our help the most at this time.  It's also the place where we can best use our gifts and have the freedom to be creative and bless the community on a regular basis.

We had been very very busy preparing for ongoing seminars over the next several months.  We've had the opportunity to teach and preach for both the Home Church Network's Christian Learning Institute, as well as back at our old home Ao Udom Church in Chon Buri.

We're working on several potential discipleship pamphlets to add to Multiplication Ministries library, which could be made available in our consultations.  Ultimately we hope that these materials will be available in many languages and on the shelves of some of the Christian book stores.  We don't care so much for money, we just want it in the centralized location so that the churches can have easy access to them.

We're eagerly awaiting our friends to complete their translations and updates to the standard Multiplication Ministries materials.  8 different langauges have been in the works, three of which are just being updated.  Would you please keep this effort in prayer, especially for the languages that are due during the Christmas season.  We had hoped to share these ones as gifts to our contacts during that time.

The water project in Mae Sai area is slowly taking shape.  Right now we're focusing on raising funds specifically for that project.  Right now we have raised $550 specifically for that.  Our target is to have at least $3000 specifically for the Ahka Water Project.  We're sending some evangelistic posters up there that have to do with pure water.  Pray that the Gospel can be shared and that God would reward their faith by providing for the purification system in His perfect timing.

We have a lot of things going on, and we wish you could take time to pray for us. The nature of our ministry is quite diverse, but the primary role for us to be ministry consultants that help make impact on a church for how to use home cells, one to one discipleship, provide curriculum, and evangelism through community impact.  In order to make a difference, it's important that we work with church organizations that will be able to grab hold of the vision and implement the consultation.  usually this is done 1 church at a time.  Admittedly, it takes time, and sometimes we want to see it all happen faster and therefore we've enjoyed investing our time in several ministries instead of putting all our efforts into 1 basket.

The past month has been filled with some ups and downs.  There are so many possibilities of great things that could be in this season.  Ever since we've been in Thailand we notice that the Enemy of God is quite strategic on hindering ministry.  If you could pray for the people we are working with especially, including for us.  The words I can think of are:  Discernment, Focus, Discipline to stay the course and meet timelines, and commitment to follow through on the plan, soft clay, prioritize.

We were glad to run into some friends from Kasetsart University.  We discipled the young man in white shirt.  We warned he and his friends about false prophets.  They were surprised we showed up to this Benny Hinn seminar.  There's people who were blessed by what was shared that was truth.  The Gospel is truth.  The issue is whether the truth is being pedaled for financial gain, and prophecies are given on top of the truth to tickle ears.  That's what we have issues with.  It was great to hear the first part of the seminar and to see Lloyd give his life to Christ.  The bad part came in part 2.  We walked out but not before pointing our friends to 1Timothy6.
