There are many Pakistani refugees living within Bangkok, Thailand. Many have come to escape harsh persecution from the hands of radical Islam against Christians. Still others come to Thailand seeking new opportunities in another land, as they approach the United Nations for asylum status. It is a difficult life for them in Thailand, as they are often in danger of being thrown into detention centers for not being here legally. They are unable to work legally here. Yet the process for applying for asylum can take many, many years.
The flood of refugees coming into Thailand from Pakistan has created problems for not just those who dared to leave Pakistan for a better life, the number of refugees coming into Thailand has caused problems for the churches who cannot keep up with the needs of the people.
Multiplication Ministries (as an organization) is not a bank, nor a compassion ministry which has the resources to meet the physical needs of our brothers and sisters who have sought refugee status. However we have a desire to help the churches meet the spiritual needs.
There are some faithful Pakistani men and women who have been using our discipling program to help their neighbors within the apartment complexes they live in. It's encouraging to see Thai pastors and church congregations to help share the love and care for the Pakistani Christians who are living around them. Typically the international churches and the two main Pakistani churches in Bangkok have struggled to provide help, and it's encouraging to see some Thai churches open up their arms wide for some of our struggling Pakistani brothers and sisters.
Please pray for our personal friends from Pakistan who have been faithfully discipling others using the MM program... Please pray that the Lord gives them protection, provision, and favor with both God and man.
To protect the identities of the various refugees being disciple and who are discipling we must limit the details and mask some of the photographs.
