Week of 11/20/2011

Plenty of great things happening, sorry that I haven't been posting has often.

Some highlights:

1.  We started a small home cell for international visitors.  We're going to use this to be able to pray for some specific things, and worship God in English language (for those who would rather do that in their native language).  My hope is for us to grow together in faith and actually see a lot of break throughs through prayer regarding health issues.  I recently have become so disenchanted with my own lack of faith regarding being able to ask God with confidence to please help someone's health. I don't ever want to just extend a sympathetic ear.  I know not everyone has that special gift of faith/intercessory prayer, but hey, someone we encourage may have it!  We meet Sunday mornings before church.

2.  We have a friend who's relative is very very sick.  She has had a habit of drinking alcohol and her organs are shot.  She was checked into the hospital and the doctor said she was surely to die.  We visited her on what the doctor promised would be her last day, barring a miracle.  Several of us from the church went to encourage her and pray.  She showed up at church today!  She was checked out of the hospital and is living at home again!  When we saw her at the hospital she couldn't eat, and today we ate lunch with her!  Praise God!

3.  Two miracles in the Chon Buri Hospital within a week? The elderly lady in the middle of this picture had a bit of misfortune when a vicious dog jumped out at her as she was riding her scooter. She wasn't wearing a helmet. We went to the hospital with Ajan Fang and others to pray for her The doctor said she had severe head injury and could not speak or hear. We came by and encouraged her family to try talking with the Christian God about it. We prayed and left. Today we found out the mom could speak and eat again! Praise God! Just in times for Thanksgiving Day too!

4.  Wearing our Multiplication Ministries Hat, we are helping our dear friend Cristina with some much needed materials for leadership.  She is a pastor through YWAM Youth With A Mission.  She is an appointed leader of several pastors through a network of 5 countries within Asia.  She's currently helping a church leader on the border of Burma and will be conducting a 6 week course on leadership.  Tammy and I are going to spend several days on Skype going over all the Multiplication Ministries consultation.  We hope to indirectly influence many many ministries by sharing MM's insight with Cristina who can reach the folks up in the North, and abroad too!  Please pray for her as she has a lot on her plate.

5.  Tammy's been teaching English and sharing the Gospel here and there with those interested.  We threw a party for them, with a Toastmasters International theme.  We played games, practiced our English speaking skills, did some improvisation/acting, and ate some good food.

6.  This week we're throwing a big party for Thanksgiving, for the 2nd straight year.  Last year's was a hit, and we hope this one is even better.  This time around we're gonna do some skits explaining how it was divine providence for the pilgrims to find the land and the helpful indian natives that spoke English.  We're going to walk around the nearby shops and share food with the folks that we have relationship with.  That's going to be a huge procession, we think 30 people might be part of it.

7.  The Water Store is on the shelf for a couple weeks as we make some modifications and await approval from the FDA.  We still need donations for this project should your friends/coworkershave a passion for clean water for the locals here.

8.  Flood waters are receding.. They already have receded in the North of Thailand, and most of our friends in Bangkok escaped from harm.  Thank God!  Note that Tammy and I were never in danger in Chon Buri area.

9.  We finished discipleship program for Kame and M.  Thank you for praying for them!  Kame has already taught at the engineering factory, and M will do so also in the upcoming weeks.  We hope to get them comfortable with facilitating a training, and then we'll let them loose in 1 on 1 situations.  Though not exactly how we wanted to draw it out, we will probably have about 8-10 folks familiar with the MM material by early next year.  We hope to coach them to train others in 1 on 1 settings.  It's just in time because we have many new believers this year in our church.

10.  Our friend Boonchiaw came and we pointed him in the direction of our friend Jeeb who had opened up and wanted prayer from us the night before.  Boon has a way with sharing the Gospel, and sure enough this lady asked Jesus to be her Lord and Savior that very day.  Praise God. She came to church and cried tears of joy during worship time.  Our friend Sonn will disciple her!  (Praise God we helped share the MM material with Sonn and now she can do the same with Jeeb!

11.  My nephews, nieces, and the rest of the family had a special piggy bank where they saved spare change.  They broke it open and are sending us the love offering!  Praise God!!!!  This is going to bless us during our Holiday Season, and help us share the Gospel in December.  That was a generous gift from the kids (actually they are all grown up now).  Pray that those guys are all blessed for that sacrifice the way only God can bless..

12.  We did an outreach for Mercy Ministries for kids transplanted from the recent floods... Donations were given including clothes.
