Had a great day in the Lord. Sunday our friend Boonchiow showed up from Bangkok to visit us. Two people decided they wanted to turn from their previous life, and start fresh and to start walking with God by confessing Jesus was going to be their Lord and confessing that they needed Him to be their personal Savior. One of those persons was the 10 year old girl, Frayme, who we live with. This kid was such a troubled kid. She's been with the church for a while now, and though the mother is now christian, she really didn't want to believe herself. But sunday the pastor's wife, Ajan Fang, coached her a bit more and asked if she wanted to follow the Lord and she said "yes". It was really gratifying for me to see her asking because Tammy and I both try to encourage her, as she's really troubled without her dad.We went to Bowin and enjoyed getting lost through the jungle area with Boon. I think we need to get our friend a GPS. But I think he wanted to make us feel lost, but truthfully he knew the area because he used to do his ministry there back in 2006. When I told him I didn't mind we got lost, because you learn a lot when you experience that headache. He laughed when I said that, and immediately said "NOW YOU GET IT! LEARN BY DOING". Well I should have got it, that's my university's motto.
I preached on Freedom vs. Bondage. I spoke on the voices from the devil and your identity in Christ and the authority and God given power for those who belong to Christ to tell evil spirits to get out. The sermon was based on steps in Pastor Neil Anderson's Bondage Breaker book. This guy has helped thousands of christians enjoy fruitful lives away from previously cursed lives, even as church goers. The feedback I got was the people loved it because they had a chance to repent and turn back to the Lord, and proclaim what God hath said about them, and renounce the lies people and the devil have made them believe about themselves and God. Tammy said it was very powerful, and Pastor Tae even asked if I could give him the slideshow so he can use it in the future, with some Thai-cultural modifications. God bless, Alex and Tammy
