Tuesday October 4, 2011

Our friend Mark has come in from the USA to visit us for a short time.  We met Mark about 7 years ago at Grace Chapel, and we've been friends ever since.  Mark's here to support his ailing brother, who is suffering from cancer and is getting treatment in a very good hospital here in Thailand.

Mark shared a powerful testimony on sunday morning that moved people to understanding the grace of God on one's life, even after making terrible decisions.  Mark had spent time in Viet Nam as a soldier, and later turned to drugs.  But by the Grace of God, people along the way brought him to church where he got to know about the Lord, and experience many things in life, and answers to prayer.  Our mutual friend Ray brought him to Grace Chapel and he got cleaned up and has a terrific support group around him.

Mark is a very helpful guy.  I was surprised when I realized we have been in four countries together already, in the context of serving the Lord.  USA of course, Mexico, Philippines, and Thailand.  It's a God thing because the first day we met we talked about how I was Filipino and how he wanted to see his dad out there in the PI one day and how cool it would be for us to be together at the same time in another land.  And it happened!

Anyways, there's been good things happening, and thank you for praying for us.  I preached Sunday on friendship with God, but only got 1/2 the way through.  Please pray that I can get another chance to get to the other half with all the stuff I really wanted to say.  The first half was just building up to the second half, and I had to go thru it because I didn't know if there was someone in the crowd that had no clue of the Gospel before.

Tammy sang some beautiful songs as a young man named "T" and I played guitar.  The songs were "Jesus Friend Forever" and "I am a Friend of God".

Boonchiaw came to translate again!  What a blessing because he has a lot on his plate as a missionary and part of International Leadership Institute, for him to take this much time to support us out here in Ao Udom is not to be taken for granted.  He was really excited because immediately he wanted to help Mark's family, not knowing who Mark was or his situation.  Mark told him about the cancer his brother is suffering, and Boon so happens to love praying for sick people and watching God heal them immediately.  Please pray for that day to come when we can be all together with Mark's family.

Other than that Tammy continues to do a great job with the folks learning English.  It's a great outreach for the community, and friendships are formed this way.  We asked for several of these people we're meeting if they'd like to come to church and hear the message, or hear Tammy sing, or hear Mark speak...but sadly only 1 of our friends made the time to wake up and get to church.  Please continue to pray for all those relationships, because we care for them and God cares for them 1000 times more than we do for them.

We are running into some issues with the Water Factory with the Ozone, and we're getting that squared away.

Nong Jak (front), and brother Nong "T"
Please pray for a BIG day on October 15 where many church's youth are getting together throughout Thailand's Chon Buri area.  Please lift up our young friend Jak who is about 20 years old, and will be organizing the youth.  He came to Ao Udom church recently, and he's been so faithful!

Please pray for my dear friend Paul Colburn who is getting married in November!!!!!

Lastly, we're meeting up with many pastors soon for a big gathering, we would love to share with them some of the Multiplication Ministires and ILI material, if the Lord opens the door for us.

God bless you guys... Love, Alex and Tammy
