Week of August 27, 2012

Hi Everybody,

Thanks for praying for us.  This has been a busy several weeks.  I wanted to give you an update of what God's doing in our lives, and hopefully it blesses you to know God is answering your prayers for us.

A.  MOVED TO BANGKOK
We are official residents of Bangkok and official students of an accredited language institute.  We needed to do this in order to obtain the best Visa from immigration that fit our situation at the time.  It's been great so far, and we're learning a lot.  We never know the future, and being bilengual is a very good thing for future work opportunities, in ministry or in the secular world.  We're in more of the intermediate classes.

God has blessed us with continued financial support from Ao Udom Church and friends from Thailand to pay for our lodging here in Bangkok.  We live in a condominium/hotel complex, which our dear friend negotiated at a great monthly rate.

Happy Birthday P Nu!!!!

B.  FRIENDS HELPING in INTERNATIONAL EFFORT FOR MM
We are continuing in our ministry, in some ways, through the hard dedicated work of our friends throughout the world who have captured some of the vision we have for the Southeast Asia region.
It's a blessing to have old and new friends coming alongside to put MM's discipleship material in languages throughout many many countries in the area.  We hope by Christmas time, we will have at least 5 new publications completed for Southeast Asia, not including 2 that are being revised in European countries.

C.  THAILAND LOCAL CHURCH MINISTRY
The new Thai translation of MM's One to One Discipleship Manual is going to be reviewed by a publisher of Christian materials.  When Tammy initially got the news we were pregnant, we went to a hospital in Sri Racha and met the wife of a man of authority in the church networks, who overseas curriculum for churches within the network.  He helps publish the training manuals.  It was a serendipitous meeting, because the wife is a nurse.  Pastor Tae followed up with her this week, and we got word that next month they will take a closer look at MM's publication.

Please pray that others who can make decisions that affect thousands will see our work as a valued tool, but that it can be taken on as a special project to bring it to the quality it needs to be by the editors and eventually put on the shelves of Christian book stores and churches throughout the area.  This is really important because those who don't have time to seriously look at things closely might not see the nuances of the curriculum that make a big difference down the road.
Pastor Tae of the Ao Udom Church reiterated the church's commitment to work alongside us, and build a model for MM... that is, the churches want to see proof that MM's assistance bears fruit.  We are currently working on the official consultation report for Ao Udom.  Pray for God's wisdom and specific impactful advice that the Ao Udom Church can embrace and put into action.

D.  Where is out current fellowship?
We are dear friends with an international church called Greater Grace, which is based out of Baltimore, Maryland (USA).  We have been fellowshipping with them, along with their missionaries.    We also intend on visiting Ao Udom and Lat Prao church.  Lat Prao is very close to where we live right now.  Lat Prao Church's pastor, Ajarn Choosak, planted the Ao Udom Church more than 8 years ago.   Lat Prao and Ao Udom collaborate on church camps every summer.

We were very pleasantly surprised when Pastor Tae informed us that our new condo rental is very close to Youth  For Christ and Campus Crusade.  We intend on visiting them and seeing how we can partner with their efforts too.  YFC and MM have some similarities that really help seminary students shape the way they do ministry.  Pastor Tae and Fang are YFC alumni.  YFC and MM both stress the importance of making a community impact.    Campus Crusade has helped MM develop its training manuals, long ago.  Pastor Tae will introduce us to these contacts in upcoming weeks.

E.  Home Church Network
Please pray for us to be able to work and help this movement within thailand.  We have publications that can help build up their leaders, from MM, but also from International Leadership Institute.  I also have had it heavy on my heart to complete some official training documents for those who operate in the gifts of the Holy Spirit.  I was really surprised when our friend Kyle from Horizon, currently a missionary in Macau, spontanously advised me to get into touch with someone who works with translations for Calvary Chapel.  I was really delighted.  Why?  Because I was looking at one of my personal favorite books outline the scripture regarding the Holy Spirit, which were Calvary Chapel books.  I wanted to somehow contact Calvary Chapel to ask for permission to have it translated (or portions of it)...I never told Kyle anything about this, and he randomly advised me I ought to know the person who gives the green light on that, for international missions.    That must be God directing and guiding our steps!!!!

Dr Sinchai at a conference in Bangkok.  Tammy and I  went to see what all the fuss was about Benny Hinn, and surely we were disappointed with what we had to see.

F.  WATER PROJECT FOR AHKA VILLAGE
Please pray for funds to come in from the professional contacts we've made from the land of Holland.  There was a successful businessman that approached us regarding our needs to help with water purification.  He has other high ranking authorities in the Netherlands that he firmly believes will want to help.  We did not ask him for this involvement, he volunteered it after overhearing my conversation with some pastors in a Chiang Rai bakery.  We may hear more next week from these authorities.    This was amazing to me because we were surveying the farm land of the Ahka village with our friends from ARLDF ministry, and we had just finished praying for God to please help provide for ARLDF so they can conduct this project by faith.  This gentleman from Holland might be an answer to this prayer.

There's more, but that's what I will share for now.  Would you please pray for these steps of faith?
We are looking for work too.  God is faithful , and we need to be faithful with what He's given us.  We're working hard in that regard, and hope things are going to be crystal clear for us moving forward.

God is speaking to both Tammy and I through His Word, and through dreams, and visions, supernatural word of knowledge and performing things especially regarding contacts and open doors in ministry that seem to suggest that we keep moving and don't quit yet.  This is somewhat surprising to us because months ago, it looked like the lack of sustainable support was proof enough that it was time to call it quits.  It looked like the pregnancy was the final decider it was time to go back, and not give this region another thought, as it was a chapter opened and closed.

We're still seeking the Lord on the matter, but it seems like He already has spoken loud and clearly the past 2 months.  Now it's just a matter of trusting Him, and walking this out.  We don't know how and when we make it back here, or if we can continue to function remotely in the USA on matters concerning this region with our existing contacts.  We just know this is a mission field we've been called to.   We know we'll be in USA indefinitely starting February, unless something dramatic happens between now and then.

By the way, our prayer at the beginning of 2012 was that the Lord would provide our $1100 / month basic budget to cover insurance, medical, transportation, housing, food, and IMMIGRATION Visa/Tuition Costs for Student Visas).  Thank God that's happened into July...

Do you recognize the Hand of God in our ministry, orchestrating these events and bringing us to the people, one by one, who we need to meet to accomplish the task set before us?  Do you believe that God has called us to this and that He's pleased with this ministry?  Do you believe that training faithful men who can trust God and teach others how to follow God is going to make a difference to this region?  If so, would you all please pray about becoming regular donors for our ministry and donating smaller monthly payments through pay pal, into 2013?  If enough friends and family who know and believe in our ministry could sacrifice $10-$50 every month this would really help us.  As of to date (for 2 years) we've been blessed by the occasional big donations by about a dozen of supporters.

If you would like to join this mission effort in this manner, just go to www.multimin.com

Thanks for loving and supporting us as we attempt to finish this trip strong.

Your friends,

Alex and Tammy
