Wednesday Continued

What's does a church look like?  Is it a fancy building?  Is it the fancy robes?  God commanded the Jews to have these to display symbolism for His Holiness.  But the Gospel moved forward in homes in small gatherings.... Rome did not like Christians.  They were afraid of it leading to revolt.

The early church can be read about in the book of Acts.  It's an incredible chapter.

Acts 2:42 The Fellowship of the Believers

42They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. 44All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. 46Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

One thing that I've been contemplating more than usual this week is the community of believers, and the investment in time for that.  Tammy and I have a heart for evangelism, but there are so many hurting people that need care within the existing family of God.  Whether it's need for prayer and encouragement when people are sickly. We've had a number of flu/fever and bouts of chicken pox with the kids.  We've had a few birthdays and a baby shower.  Interestingly a couple of those were for dear people that are not used to the attention....  Or whether it's the need for spouses to just have some quality time to relax and go on a date, and could use a breather from the kids...  These are all things that are part of shepherding a church.  Pastor Tae and his leaders are very good at this.

The other thing from Acts that it says that every one shared.  Tammy and I are taken back by the kindness of our friends we shall call M&M (a married couple).. We are blown away because they are committed to support us by paying our housing/rent for as long as we are doing this mission.  Wow!!!  Praise God!!!!  That's so generous!

I also praise God for my sister Carlin who coordinated our immediate family to donate to Tammy and I a significant amount for the AO UDOM RO Water System!  Praise God for that, because we needed that much to get to the next step and move forward!!! Thank you for all praying, and please don't be shy if you want to help us financially.  The #1 thing I'm concerned about is the Water system we are planning.  We are approximately 80% there.  Please pray and let the word out and as the Lord leads, let me know if the Lord impresses it on your heart to help for building the RO system.  No pressure, no guilting.  The Lord knows where the funds will come from.  God bless!!!!

Here's pictures of the party for Pastor Tae and Elder Whoot.
