We had a good meal filled with vegetables to get us on the right track at the mall. We spent a few hours brushing up on Thai language classes that we were involved with since leaving Thailand. The work we put in has noticeably improved our ability to communicate here. The locals are a bit surprised, especially from Tammy that we can joke and converse. Hard work does get rewarded.
We visited Greater Grace Church and are so pleased to know that Pastor Mike and some of our friends will certainly be able to help us get our first project completed....that is the translation of Multiplication Ministries "Getting to Know God Personally" folder. We didn't know Pastor Walsh actually works with many translators in the area that work with books and training materials.
We were also able to get our missionary friends excited about MM's "Get the Picture" visual aid for Bible teachers. We'll be helping promote that throughout our time here.
Today we hope to meet up with our friend from the US Embassy, Sakchai. Tomorrow we will be meeting our missionary friend Cristina from YWAM. She'll be flying into Bangkok.
Praise report: Tammy's dear brother Jon finally contacted her after many years of Tammy praying. Tammy was so excited and happy. God is so good! The Bible states that it is impossible to please God without faith. We have to believe that He IS, and that He richly rewards those who diligently seek Him. I think the timing of this happening is just a sign from God that He is rewarding Tammy for having the faith to come back here and serve His purposes for the benefit of the Thai people. There's nothing like knowing in your heart you are in the center of what God's specific Will is for your life, on that day.
Thank you for praying for us. Tammy is not culture shocked, and she said it feels like we've never left (in a good way). There's a familiarity and comfort level for her now that she's acquainted with the people and the culture.
