Friday 6/10/11

Where did the week go?  It zooomed by.  We spent quality time with Sonn on her birthday.  We also took two of the kids out for KFC and a movie tonight.  We discipled one of those kids last year.  He became 16 today.  I asked him if he was a boy or a man today, and he said he is a "pu yai" which means grownup.

We can use some prayer for this week....here are some I can think of off the top of my head... I'll limit them to a list of 7 for this week.

1.  Please pray for the message I'll be delivering to the church in Bowin.  Pray for the hearts and ears that will hear it.

2.  Pray for our new friend Maee who we will be teaching on sunday.  She speaks English fluently, and she is helping us translate.  Please pray especially for her sister, Fonn.  They both are christian, but Maee will be around only one month and she really wants her sister to start going to church.  Her sister Fonn goes to the university here in Ao Udom.  Her sister is a bit quiet, though she reportedly can speak english even better than Maee.  Hopefully there can be chemistry.

Steve Pumara is a water professional who lived in thailand 25+ years

3.  I called the water engineer/technician Steve Pumara to check on his availability to help train Tae and I on the nuances of the water purification filtration operating system.  I actually would like for him to be a mentor for me as he oversees many water projects throughout the land.  I'm hoping Tae and he can have a partnership for several weeks because I know Tae will need onsite help.  Please pray for Tae to hire TRUSTWORTHY, competent workers who are reliable.  Hopefully they will be Christian too.

4.  Please pray for our friend Tom, who is looking to make it out here to help.

5.  Please pray for Tammy as she's trying her best to learn enough to pass some English Certification Courses so she may be an employed teacher one day.  She is also trying to learn some teaching material for the "Get the Picture" program which uses many diagrams to visually explain the Bible.  It's a lot of work for her.

6.  We've chosen to continue to live next to the church instead of living in Sira Cha.  Please pray for vision on what to do with this apartment which has potential for a small cafe.  We hope someone would want to rent the downstairs patio for a small shop, just as they did with an ice cream store last year.  We don't want to be encumbered by the responsibiltiy of running it, but it would be great if we can use the space for something worthwhile.  Maybe something for the church, at least.

7.  Please pray for Suchia, our friend, who runs a restaurant.  She lost her helper, and she could use some help running the shop.  When we visit her, we never have time to chat with her anymore.  Some people from the church help her, and Tammy's volunteered to help here and there, but she didn't want us to help.

Thank you!!!!
