Monday "Day off"

We had a productive day today.
We spent many hours preparing our Prayer Request Letter which outlines aspects of the ministry here in Chon Buri, and requests for specific prayer and if the Lord leads, financial support, for the Ao Udom church's expansion and/or funds for Tammy and I.  Hate to ask, but I know the Lord leads people into desiring to support the ministry.

We also were able to relay the rest of the donations that came in for the Reverse Osmosis project to Tae.  Tomorrow we will meet the water expert Young joot and I will be able to relay the name and number of Steve Pumara, the guy who has spent 25 years building systems in thailand, and who will give free consultation to anyone who wants it.

This morning I was compelled to call a person named Mike on my phone.  I'm glad I did!  I had planned to go to Sira Cha to scope out another area that is more comfortable for us to live at in Chon Buri.  There are a lot of conveniences there that are not here in Ao Udom, and it's close to the church still.  We are thinking of spending time there in Jan, Feb.  I love that area because of the city life energy there.  The high rise places there remind me of San Diego condos.  There's an awesome university there, and plenty of shopping and restaurants, and it's not a tiny town at all.  When we went to the Baensean university and went evangelizing with the team there, and when we went to the soccer match, it felt great.  I really feel drawn to that place, and again this is a place where Pastor Tae has targeted as an area he would like to branch out in.  So I told Tammy and Tae I wanted to go there tonite.  But also I wanted to see who was this guy Mike that we put in our phone.

It turned out that we met this guy while holding an english teaching sign at the restaurant.  He spoke English very well.  Later he asked me if he can come over tonite.  I said sure.  Tammy said " i thought we were goin to Sira Cha tonite!?"  I told her when you see an opportunity to build relationship here, seize it.  It's not often someone openly receives your initiation for relationship such as Mike did.  Not often someone here speaks such great english.  So he came over, and in came 3 different friends of his!  We spoke and hung out at the pad, like we had hoped and envisioned for this place when we hooked up all the lights and decorated.  They told us they often wish they could swing by but it's closed, and we're rarely here.  They know of us because Tae and gotten the word out to them.  Later they said the night market is open in Sira cha...we would like to go.  I said, hey, I wanted to go there to show Tammy tonite!  It all worked out great.  Praise God.  We met more of their friends over there and had a seafood meal sitting on the floor eating off a low to the ground table.  We shared a lot of stories, and then some opportunities came up for us to share the Lord with them.  They were excited and there eyes were opened about some of our stories.

We have a lot of their numbers and they are looking forward to hanging out and throwing a party together.  I told them we can celebrate Thanksgiving.  Please pray for these relationships to quickly spring and bear fruit.  Through our mutual love of music/guitar playing, through our desire to exercise more/ through their desire to learn more english/ and one of their girl friend's desire to teach tammy how to cook thai food.

Wish this could have happened a month or two ago.  But c'est la vi... Please pray for commitment on their end, as Thailand is often non commital, easy going, see what happens attitude.
