Today we threw a party at the church, and it was great! We had many of our friends celebrate from all over thailand. About 30 people showed up, from all different countries.
We made funny hats out of construction paper, to be either pilgrims or native american indians. It was a hit. We had a translater explain how the pilgrims went to find a better land, and to be able to worship Jesus without the obstruction from religious people who did not want to follow the bible, but follow their own way. How many died in the journey by boat, and how God provided miracles along the way.
We had fun games, we had great times sharing in mini group settings on what we are thankful for, we prayed together, and many who did not know God had many many questions for the christians. The non believers enjoyed the time very much, and had open hearts to hear the Gospel.
We watched movies, and funny cartoons about thanksgiving....Jokes about how the holiday in america became more about eating eating and eating, and football were on old saturday night live skits.
We were surprised that some islamic friends came from africa (they live in bangkok) and we shared a lot with them. They had so many questions, and hopefully those seeds will take root. They speak french and arabic, and english, but they prefer French. They were very happy I had the bible in french on my computer, and I personally was surprised that someone gave me a DVD of Jesus in french language and arabic subtitles. I gave it to them... I didn't know how I had it, but I had in my backpack, and I knew the Lord told me not to throw it away, that someone in Thailand needed it. Wow!
We had 3 cool friends from Bangkok that came that are christian, Sandon, Ed, and their burmese friend Raymond. They are sleeping over. Those guys are great, and they helped shared the Gospel to many people at the party who didn't hear. It was great that the people their age really enjoyed their company.
God bless,
Alex
