MONDAY - DAY OFF? NOPE

Sunday's message was one that got me going.  I had been up late often and sleeping in.  But the message was about how Jesus was the model of work, as he was tireless in ministry.  Day and Night.  He woke up early to hear from His Father in Heaven.  He was not lazy, because He had limited time and had so much to do!

Monday was the day off, but I felt that we were behind on schedule, and time was ticking.  So we printed out 100 flyers for the english learning center at the church and passed them out to many students.  We brought a lady who runs a restaurant to the church and Fang translated for us.  That lady "Sue" really liked us and wants us over at her home.  It turns out her mom was christian!  And she had been invited to that church by Elder Whoot for many years.  This sunday, she promises to come.  It was funny because tammy noticed the idol shrine toppled over and spilled water at her restaurant when we walked in.

We went to the cofee shop and studied thai again. The two people who work there are Dao and VJ.  They want to go to the church to study english but they cannot find time, so I said if they want we can arrange a day for the cofee shop, and they said yes!!!  They will give us free cofee if we talk with them.  But I said no.  What I plan on doing is using my bible that has life questions as the framework of how we will converse.  I will introduce stories of kings, love stories, and of troubled lives that God touched after asking them to reflect on questions regarding life, as is written in my bible to get conversations going.  I think it will be good.  Please pray for this to be a good start!!!!

We then passed out many flyers at the university, and several students that had some basics of english that really wanted to practice wanted a chance to practice with us, and want to be available.  I told them if they wish, they can get a handful of friends, and if they have them, then we would make a special session for them.

Tammy had a great time today too, passing out flyers and meeting so many people.  We later went to the fair, as it is the last night, and we got a big soft fold up cushion for our friends who are coming from Ireland to do missions in thailand.  We got the cool lanterns we wanted to make things colorful, and some black lights from elder Whoot.  Our living space should be a cool place for people to come hang out.
We just need the Lord to give us the ones who have good soil, who are ready to hear the Gospel, and ready to respond to it.  We really need a special set of people who know enough english for us to communicate to them.  Would you join us in prayer for that?

Oh, Tae asked me if we would try to minister to the bike taxis.  Today, we could not find a tuk tuk at the fair (and the guy we met on the weekend, I didn't want to call).  SO I asked Elder Whoot if he could please help us with his truck.  He is such a blessing.  He did.  And for 30 minutes we had a chance to hang out with taxi bike drivers...and practice thai with them.  Their girlfriends were very interested in the english classes.  The bike drivers enjoyed joking in english.  I gave them a christian tract to read.  Hopefully the vision Tae had prayed for regarding displaying how christian church is useful, practical, and good is taking shape as we go about our daily business.

God bless,
Alex
