Had a long but fruitful day following Pastor Tae around Chon Buri. We were able to share with several people who have just become christian. Tuk and Si have decided to follow Jesus 2 or 3 weeks ago. They know our friend Deng and were so impressed with her and how gracious and forgiving and generous she is, they were inspired to know who this God is that changed Deng's life for the better. Here's a picture of our friends at the beauty salon where Tae ministers to the locals. Soon is actually the group leader standing next to Tammy on the right side of the pic.
Tonite we went to the factory. Our friend from Missionary Steve's english class, Grace, came to visit. She will help communicate to the owner of the factory, who also is Korean (Grace is Korean), to smooth out some issues regarding the scheduling. The owner is Christian and wants the whole factory to go to Bible study, but some choose not to. The ones that choose not to resent the fact the others who have become Christian, do not work with them and take advantage of the Bible class. Grace is a great translator, and she took a 3 hour bus ride just to get up here to help. Thank God for her. Many thai loved talking with her and learning about her culture. Grace has studied thai for 1.5 years.
Many shared their thoughts and meditations from their devotional time. I shared a little bit about what i had been studying on recently on David vs. Goliath. I guess they liked the subject because they spent the majority of the night reading the story and praying for greater faith in the midst of discouragement.
Tomorrow is a day of teaching english. Please pray fervently that our session at 5:30 we can keep the attention of the 10 or so students who are committed to coming. These are university kids with diverse backgrounds in terms of levels of english speaking. Really we don't have a clue on how to go about teaching when their levels are so different. I know we may have only 1 shot with these kids to share a little about the Gospel, everyone's schedule is crazy. But then again we want to have relationship with these kids that span longer than 1 friendly curious visit to our english center.
Thanks for praying!
Alex
